The Suncrown family of Quel’Thalas traces its proud history as far back as the rangers of the Suncrown Grove. Their first lord, Elredian Suncrown made a name for himself at the settling of the first Highborn in Quel’Thalas. He and his kin launched many successful attacks against the Amani trolls of that region. After neutralizing the troll nuisance, Dath'Remar Sunstrider rewarded them with land and title of the newly founded Suncrown Grove in the Blackened Woods.
Recognizing the vulnerability of the new and wild territory, the newly titled Lord Suncrown created a small fort to serve as a buffer between Quel’Thalas and the southern wilds. The wealthy Dolopartas of Silvermoon saw promise in Lord Suncrown and arranged a marriage to his daughter Feya. Because she was his only child, he gave them a magnificent dowry. In honor of their union, a tree was planted at the center of what would become Suncrown Village.
It was from these humble beginnings that Elredian, in his well defended grove, began to attract rootless Highborn. The grove’s fertile land, strategic location, and access to Lake Elrendar made it the perfect location for a noble estate. Over the course of the last seven millennia, feuds have occurred between other noble houses and within the Suncrown line over hereditary rights and land disputes, but the name has never changed.
