Character History

Under different circumstances, Vierton's father Lurian could have been a born leader. As the third son and seventh born child of Cian Rennel’Thas, his family expected he would support rather than lead. Lurian’s ambitious nature warred with the natural filial respect he held for his father, and a sincere desire for the success of Suncrown. At a young age, Cian pushed Lurian to pursue a career in the church.

A career in magic would have suited Lurian’s temperament far better. Nevertheless, he succeeded in the church with distinction over time. Like his eldest brother Lucian, Lurian took a wife for mainly political reasons. Unalla, the beautiful daughter of Lord Knight Varjavian, shared Lurian’s ambitious personality, but their marriage was one of convenience. Because of the coldly polite relationship the two shared, Unalla shocked both of their families when she announced her first pregnancy. After each subsequent child, the gossip compounded, including rumors malicious, benign and absurd.

Vierton was born five years after his brother, Velurian. They and their two younger siblings were raised in the sanctity and peace of the church. were raised in the sanctity and peace of the church. Surrounded by quiet meditation and reflection, they received abundant dosages of sanctity, complete with long sermons by the priests. This upbringing had a strangely opposite effect on Velurian and Vierton. The light inspired Velurian and filled him with a sense of awe and optimism. Vierton found the sermons tedious as the ethics they preached.

Unlike Velurian, Vierton found learning to be a more difficult task. Slower to progress than his brother, he often found himself having to lie, cheat, and even steal in order to keep up wtih others of his age. He was also weaker in strength than Velurian. The biggest difference was that he failed to see how preachy rules of ethics and morality gained any one power or standing over others.

"The difference between a strong house and a weak house is what the one is willing to do to both gain, and maintain, that which they hold over the other."

Over the years Vierton's self confidence grew. While he was neither spiritual enought to follow his father's footsteps, nor strong enough to follow his brother's, Vierton managed to cut out his own trail in the form of information and intel gathering.

Vierton served his family well by discovering skeleton's in closets and closed door opinions of political power heads.

Craving a more active roll in the family, Vierton begged Velurian to teach him how to fight, hoping to impress his father enought to give him more responsibilities and public acknowledgement of his familial dedication.

Months later, Arthas attacked. Vierton fought hard and strong along side his family. When the dust settled and he peered over his homeland. He saw every thing he had worked so hard to be part of destroyed.

His anger drew him to an even darker place within. Thou he had fought valiently he had barely succeeded in keeping himself alive, much less saving others. He start to seek out ways to supliment his week points. Pressure points, crippling strikes, poisons.

Once the family was resettled, and organization began once again, Vierton started to take long sabaticles. Journeys alone that would last anywere from days to months. Once he returns, he is as calculating and ambitious as he ever was. Velurian (knowing were Vierton goes after having him followed) believes that Vierton may be suffering the same illness as their father and these trips are, in some way, helping him to keep his sanity.
