Physical Description
Valinmar is the tallest of the four siblings, though a bit thinner than his two brothers,
and he possesses the dark-haired trait that is consistent among all of Lurian's children.
He is a cross between Velurian and Evalani in terms of facial structure,
though lighter of complexion with a head of very long and flowing black hair.
He is near obsessive with his clothing and grooming. As with
all other areas of his life, these are approached with an attitude
of perfectionism. This personality trait, incidentally, influences
his crafting skills as well. He is known, at least within the family
and its close relations, as a masterful clothier and tailor. He is also
naturally adept in the art of enchanting, given his aptitude for all things
arcane. He aspires to one day have his name
known throughout Lordaeron for his masterful craftsmanship, in addition
to his magical prowess.
Known Personality
Much of Valinmar's motivation results from an inauspicious
trait of the family's history and standing:
that while the Suncrown family continued to hold a reputation
for magical-climbing, there has never been a member of significant
magical power. Though the family is powerful in other ways, it is
occasionally snubbed in society for this perceived shortcoming.
Power and standing within the house have never much interested him,
which is fortunate being as far-removed as he is from holding the
title of Patriarch (third son of the second son of Cian). He's more
than willing to let Velurian handle the irritating responsibilities
of family politics.
What Valinmar does strive for is recognition of Suncrown among
the other noble families and magical circles within Sin'dorei society.
He practices his craft with perfection, and will undertake any task
that might further the family's recognition. He also strives
to hold a place of honor in battle: both
against the foes of the so-called "Alliance" on the open battlefield and
against the myriad of challengers in the gladiatorial arenas.
Valinmar is mostly content to take on these challenges alone, but is always
working to inspire other family members to do their part and assist
him in the cause. This is most notably seen in forming exploration
parties to the more dangerous areas of the world (high end instances)
and seeking to assemble a team of the best-and-brightest to take the
field in battle against the oppressive Alliance.

'research' house that was not fit to truely succeed in the real world.

Character History
Under different circumstances, Valinmar's father Lurian could have been a born leader.
As the third son and seventh born child of Cian Rellen’Thas, his
family expected he would support rather than lead. Lurian’s ambitious
nature warred with the natural filial respect he held for his father,
and a sincere desire for the success of Suncrown. At a young age, Cian
pushed Lurian to pursue a career in the church.
A career in magic would have suited Lurian’s temperament far better.
Nevertheless, he succeeded in the church with distinction over time.
Like his eldest brother Lucian, Lurian took a wife for mainly political reasons. Unalla,
the beautiful daughter of Lord Knight Varjavian, shared Lurian’s
ambitious personality, but their marriage was one of convenience.
Because of the coldly polite relationship the two shared, Unalla
shocked both of their families when she announced her first pregnancy.
After each subsequent child, the gossip compounded, including rumors
malicious, benign and absurd.
Valinmar was the third of Lurian and Unalla’s four children, all of
whom were raised in the sanctity and peace of the church. Surrounded
by quiet meditation and reflection, they received abundant dosages
of sanctity, complete with long sermons by the priests.
Valinmar strove above all else to be "the best" at whatever he set
his mind to. Well aware of his father's hopes and faith in his
eldest brother Velurian, and of
Velurian's matching devotion to his faith-studies, Valinmar
came to the conclusion after a few years of church schooling
that his time would be better spent pursuing another course,
for he would never win his father's utmost respect as a priest.
Lurian was determined that his eldest son, Velurian,
would go far in the church and worked tirelessly to create
connections and stepping-stones for him.
This resulted in Valinmar receiving a great deal less
engagement from his father. This lack of support from his father,
coupled with Valinmar's natural bent
toward the Arcane, led him to develop a strong relationship with his
uncle Luthe'ral, the youngest of his father's siblings and the family's
most recognized Mage. Before Luthe'ral's death during the defense
of the Sunwell, Valinmar studied the arcane crafts tirelessly
under his mentorship.
Valinmar, while he loved his father Lurian affectionately
(as did all of the family), was even more dismayed by his
uncle Luthe'ral's death, due to their shared visions
about advancing the family's magical reputation in the noble circles.
His uncle was also the greatest asset Valinmar had in his
magical training. Valinmar now feels that their joint pursuit
falls squarely and solely on his shoulders and is more
motivated than ever to push forward and see it to fruition.
The years of study under Luthe'ral also instilled his uncle's well-known
independent and stubborn streak in Valinmar, along with a hefty
dose of pride at being the last living Mage of any great potential
who is of full Suncrown blood.
Through his close ties with his uncle, Valinmar also feels
highly protective of Luthe'ral's twin children Faldanis and Moirene,
moreso than any of his other siblings or cousins.
