Character History
When Cian Suncrown was finally successful in marrying his daughter into the Andilien family, the patriarch of House Andilien gave Cain a great gift - the oath of service of the Ilan retainer family (a family of around 30 members). On the day Lilith Suncrown and Aigin Andilien were wed, the Ilan family ended centuries of service to House Andilien and swore a blood oath to Cian Suncrown and all his kin. If the Andilien were like iron in their stoic nature and martial bearing, then the Ilan were like twice forged steel. As such they became a great asset to the Suncrown, functioning as guards to their fortune, enforcers of their will, and shocktroops to deploy against their enemies. They also brought a great tradition of craftsmanship, being fine smiths and metalworkers. The Ilan did chafe under their new lords, as the Suncrown were far more haughty, patrician, and unscrupulous than the Andiliens; but no one outside the Ilan would have ever have known.
During the invasion of Arthas, the Ilan suffered terrible losses and served as a sacrificial rearguard at the battle of Suncrown Village; only a handful survived. Uladar now leads those that remain and has kept his family's oath to the Suncrown. He lost his parents, sister, and three brothers to the Scourge. His mother's dying request was that he forever keep his family's blood oath and seek vengeance on the Scourge. Uladar has recently begun training as a Blood Knight, the better to fulfill his mother's last request.
