Character History

Lunith had the good fortune of being the only girl born into a family that loved her and one another very much. Her parent's marriage was both a political alliance and a love match, her older brother Aigun was wonderful with her, and her little brother Ulian was a joy, even when he was a pest. Their family was not in line for succession in either the Suncrown or Andilien houses, and the Andilien estate was far enough away from other noble holdings that Lunith grew up free of the scheming and treachery that was so prevalent in other high families.

Lunith was both a product of the stoic Andilien warrior culture and her mother's magic-using background, and it became apparent at an early age that she was destined to be a healer. She was constantly patching things up and casting minor healing spells on them, starting with her dolls and graduating up to family members and retainers as her powers grew. Her brother Aigun started bringing her wounded animals that he found on his prowls, and Lunith would nurse them back to health. Soon their father and other hunters in the family were doing the same, and as a result, Lunith grew up with a much greater appreciation for and bond with Nature than was usual for a priest. In fact, she was so empathetic that it was a handicap for her--she felt sorry for everything and anything in pain, and even sorrowed for the Scourge, who had no choice in their fate.

As the beloved only daughter of the family, she was not pushed to marry and leave the house, so she was able to enjoy her life and family without being subject to political machinations. Unbeknownst to her, her family deliberately sheltered her and turned down all betrothal requests because they feared that her gentle spirit would be crushed outside the protective ring of her family. Lilith especially knew what a wolf's den that Blood Elf noble society was, and her Lunith's heart was too soft by far for her to be thrown into that.

The Andiliens had been keeping the Scourge at bay long before they became a threat to the whole of Blood Elf society, but when they launched their terrifying campaign against Silvermoon, Lunith's family estate lay directly in their path. Her father, Aigin, sent Lilith, Lunith, and other women and children to Suncrown Village, while Aigin, Aigun, and even young Ulian remained to fight the undead menace that was bearing down on them.

When word came that the Andilien lands had fallen completely to the Scourge, Lilith and Lunith were told that there were no survivors. They held out hope only for Aigun, who had been part of the defense in another area and may have escaped death. Their joy and sorrow were both great when they found that Aigun and Ulian had both survived, but that Aigin and almost every other member of their family had been wiped out in one horrible blow.

When the Scourge rolled on to Suncrown, Lunith really came into her own. Far more skilled at pure healing than many other priests of her race, she was able to save countless lives that would otherwise have been lost. The carnage left its mark on her, and she realized that empathy had little place on the battlefield, and that all of Quel'Thalas was a battlefield now. She still had a caring, empathetic heart, but her rose-colored glasses of innocence were shattered on that day.

After the dust of war settled, Aigun took his unexpected place as head of the Andilien family, and they officially allied themselves with their relatives in House Suncrown. The seething politics, jealousies and false pretenses of noble life were bewildering to Lunith, who mainly kept to herself and stayed close to her immediate family. Aigun has cautioned her to trust only Andiliens, and she agrees with him wholeheartedly. As a result, she is an outsider in House Suncrown, but this bothers her not one bit, as she sees them all as bitter, unhappy people with extremely skewed priorities.

Her heroic healing during the seige of Quel'Thalas and the destruction of Suncrown Village did not go unnoticed, however, and there are several of those in and associated with the nobility who feel that they owe her a lifedebt. She is not the type of person to require payment for her help, but if these favors aid her brother in his new role as Lord Andilien, then she will call upon them if necessary.

Lunith is also finding herself and her core strength of spirit now that she is outside the shelter of the Andilien estate. Her well-honed skills as a healer are more important now than they were among the hardy Andiliens, and she feels much more of a sense of purpose in her life than she ever has before. While she loathes the back-stabbing and the endless pain that is a daily part of Blood Elf life now, she is truly needed, which is terribly important to her.
