Character History
The union of Aigin Andilien and Lilith Suncrown was the result of a long campaign by Cian Suncrown. The marriage solidified in blood the relationship between two of the most prominent families south of the Elrendar River. To be sure the Suncrown had the greater wealth and influence, but the Andilien were a respected family which had won glory in battle. The Andilien were know for their martial bearing, with most of the family being warriors, rogues and rangers. They had gained much of their reputation fighting the Amani trolls and were important in keeping this age old and troublesome enemy at bay. Their land holdings were poorer than most aristocratic houses south of the Elrendar, and they did not enjoy quite as many luxuries as the other great families - but they had a great pride and valor. Other aristocratic families may have sneered at the Andilien's stoic nature and spartan ways, but they respected and needed their great strength of arms.
When Cian Suncrown was finally able to marry his only daughter Lilith to one of the Andilien heirs, it was a great political coup amongst the vying families south of the Elrendar. It was as if Athens and Sparta and been bound in blood.
Happily, the marriage was not only a political success for the patriarchs of two families, but it was also a union of love. Both Lilith Suncrown and Aigin Andilien were far enough removed from the lines of succession of their respective houses that they were largely free from internal power struggles. This did much to make their household carefree and rock steady.
Aigun Andilian, before the time of Arthas, was well removed from the line of succession of both the Suncrown and Andilien families. The unlikeliness of Aigun inheriting the role of patriarch may have much to do with him developing an apolitical nature, but mostly he is his father's son - Aigin Andilien was an elf of economy of words, little concerned with the petty squabbles and quarrels of aristocratic families. From his father, who was a master ranger, Aigun learned a love of the woods and of self reliance. Initially with is father, and then for years on his own, Aigun would venture far beyond the confines of Quel'Thalas. He would always return to his family home and entertain his father, mother, and devoted sister Lunith, with tales of his wanderings.
